Overcoming Travel Hesitations

There are a few things we hear… again and again when our retreats come up in conversation:

“I don’t have the money.”
“I don’t have the time.”
“I don’t have someone to go with.”
“It’s not safe right now.”

And yes—on the surface, these all sound like very good reasons not to go. That’s exactly why they’re so powerful… because no one really questions them.

But after years of conversations and traveling with women, we’ve learned something along the way: These are rarely, if ever, the real reason.

“I don’t have the money.”

More often, this sounds like: “I’m not sure I should invest in myself. There’s always something more important.”And maybe there is. But money comes back. Opportunities like this don’t always.

“I don’t have the time.”

This one usually hides something deeper: “I’ve filled my life with everything… except me.” No one has extra time just sitting around. The women who travel make a conscious decision to create space for it. We all get the same 24 hours.

“I don’t have someone to go with.”

This might be the biggest one. But most of the time, it really means: “I’m not sure I want to do this alone.” And the truth? That’s often where everything shifts. Going on your own with an open mind has a way of bringing you back to yourself. And you don’t come home the same. Only a better version of yourself.

“It’s not a good time… It’s not safe to travel.”

I understand that. I really do. But the world has never been perfectly calm.
There’s always something happening somewhere. That’s why being thoughtful about where you go matters. Places like Ireland continue to be considered very safe for travelers—welcoming, grounded, and easy to settle into, even with occasional short-lived events in the news. Waiting for the “perfect time” can easily turn into waiting forever. So maybe, before you decide it’s not for you… Just sit with it for a moment. Keep an open mind.

And if something in you is curious, if even a small part of you is ready, maybe it’s worth listening to that.

If a trip of a lifetime to Ireland is calling, we would love for you to join us in May 2027. Give us a buzz.
