Maybe It’s Not Just What We Eat, But How We Eat!
We have some amazing food here in the United States, but we also live in a world where convenience often wins. Breakfast in the car, lunch at our desk, dinner in front of the TV, and snacks because they’re simply there.
When I’m in Ireland, I notice something different. Food often feels simpler and more connected to the land and to the people around the table. Fresh vegetables, fish, eggs, local meats, good bread and dairy are enjoyed without making food overly complicated.
And maybe that’s part of the lesson.
Healthy eating isn’t just about calories, protein, carbs, and fat. It’s also about how we experience food.
Slow down. Eat real food. Add some color to your plate. Make protein and vegetables part of your meals. Sit down when you can. Enjoy your food and the people you’re sharing it with.
Wellness isn’t about eating perfectly. It’s about nourishing your body while still enjoying your life.
And maybe we could all use a little more of that Irish approach - less rushing, more real food, and a little more time around the table.
