When The Past Meets The Morning Light!

Scattered across the Irish countryside are the remains of old castles, churches, stone walls and graveyards. Some are little more than weathered stones, while others still have beautiful arches, towers and Celtic crosses standing after hundreds of years.

They may be old and weathered, but somehow they never seem forgotten. Moss grows over the stones, wildflowers find their way through the cracks, and the landscape slowly becomes part of the story.

And then there are those magical Irish moments when the light changes everything.

The photograph above was one of those moments for me. The old Celtic cross headstones, the weathered graveyard, and the ocean had already created a beautiful scene, but when the sun began to rise behind them, everything came alive. The golden light transformed something ancient and weathered into something almost magical.

Perhaps that is one of the things I love most about Ireland. The old and the new, the past and the present, nature and history all seem to live together.

A crumbling wall can still be beautiful.
An old graveyard can still feel peaceful.
And a centuries-old stone cross can look completely different when the morning sun touches it.

Things don’t have to be new to be beautiful. Sometimes, age simply gives them a story.
